How do you pull APIs into Wordpress plugin and display them?

I'm looking to pull an affiliate's api into a wordpress/woocommerce plugin and populate the WP DB. I don't seem to have a problem getting the return info but then displaying it and adding it to the WP DB is beyond me. (I'm definitely a noob.)

1st - Is there a course that would cover this? 2nd - How do you explode the data and store it and display it?

I know this is ambiguous at best but if I could get directed to a starting point I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks tanks,
