How Does Best Answer Get Picked?

Hello I'm fairly new here, love the site. I was just wondering how treehouse figures out the best answer in the forum post especially one without any upvotes?

The creator of the thread picks the best answer I think.

I don't see an option to mark your post or any others rather as the best one?

Threads in the general topic don't have best answers or voting.

Thanks James Barnett!

James is right.

How do you have so many points. I want to have more points to compete on the leader board haha (I'm quit competitive)

The best way is through completing quizzes, code challenges and earning badges. A best answer counts for 12 and and upvote 1.

Thanks Dustin Matlock, hopefully treehouse comes out with more content like swift soon and laravel.

Laravel is here this month and Swift is in the works, I'm sure. You might be interested in this blog post on Swift, and of course the FAQ. Welcome to Treehouse by the way.

Thanks for all the info Dustin Matlock.
