How does Treehouse's Techdegree 1-on-1 video mentoring work?

I have just been invited to try Treehouse's Techdegree beta which, by the way, seems totally awesome! I noticed a perk which allowed for some 1-on-1 video mentoring from the teachers at Treehouse. How does that work exactly? I actually don't have a webcam for face to face chat on my computer, which is a bummer. Is it just a live instruction lesson, or do I actually have to have a webcam to take advantage of this perk?

When I had my first session the webcam was off, as the connection wasn't great, and it went fine. You'll just need a microphone, to communicate with the mentor. For my session it was mostly spent with the mentor sharing his screen, as he went through the issues I was having.

Awesome! Thank you for the quick response! I'm glad there are alternatives for support.

Callum King That's awesome, do they allow to use text messaging via Skype live instead webcam or microphone?

They use a free software similar to Skype called Zoom, so I think you probably can.

Thanks Callum!
