How to add links to our comments?

How do you add links to words (or phrases) when asking or answering questions on the community board? I quite often see this link added to direct people to other website sources.

For links:
This is an [example link](http://example.com/)

for code

//```js
// wrap code in here without //
//```

For github readme you can use html. I just learned that today through experimentation.

This is a big help. Thanks guys!
