How to add share extension?

I'm interested in adding sharing capabilities right into the app - would be awesome if the app could capture a square image of the fact + background and be able to share it through the iOS Action/Share Extension to Facebook or Instagram. I've tried looking at tutorials (ex. http://www.techotopia.com/index.php/Creating_an_iOS_8_Action_Extension) but they mostly teach you how to share some text within the confines of a very basic app - something like this is more complicated.
