How to add support for multiple languages on website?

Hello!

How would you add support for different languages (in my case, Simplified Chinese) to your website? Would I be duplicating the files and have a folder for each language? I was thinking of having the landing page be in English, then the user can click on an icon at the top to view in Chinese.

Any help is appreciated!
