How to add the .toUpperCase ()

I am having trouble answering this question. Unable to find the right solution to this

var id = "23188xtr";
var lastName = "Smith";

var userName = id.toUpperCase 
userName = += lastName.toUpperCase()

There are a few issues with your code. First, you forgot semicolons. Second, you forgot opening and closing parentheses for toUpperCase() the first time you used it. Lastly, you have an extra equal sign in your addition assignment operator. See the correct code using your method below:

var id = "23188xtr";
var lastName = "Smith";

var userName = id.toUpperCase();
userName += "#";
userName += lastName.toUpperCase();

This could also easily be done without the addition assignment operator, +=:

var id = "23188xtr";
var lastName = "Smith";

var userName = id.toUpperCase() +"#" + lastName.toUpperCase();
