Python Python Basics (2015) Shopping List App Break

how to break a for statement?

What si wrong with this?

breaks.py
def loopy(items):
    for items in loopy:
        print(items)
        break

The idea is correct. But there are some mistakes: 1) loopy is the name of the function,however,we need a list which is items 2) when you type break, the loop stops. so the print should be after the break.

def loopy(items):
    for item in items:
        if item == "stop":
            break
        print(item)

Hope this would help :)

I breaks the loop, but it does it after it prints the very first item, so no other items will be shown.

You probably meant to use it with a conditional ("if") statement. And you also probably want to perform the test and break before you print.

Thank you Steve always a huge help!
