How to Build a WordPress Theme - downloading project files

I'm in How to Build at WordPress Theme at the The WordPress Loop lesson. I have downloaded the sample files in wp-theme-development-stage-03.zip. These files have the correct db setup and wpportfolio theme, but their wordpress folder is still in my "sample files" directory. When I copy the contents of this directory to the root allisongrayce.com directory it doesn't work. The original WP installation in allisongrayce.com displays the 2014 theme, which is not what I want. I need to get back in sync with the class.

Any ideas of where I went wrong?
