what language should i use to create a photo slideshow, doe treehouse have a lesson on this subject?

For a slideshow you will want to use Javascript. jQuery can help alot in making this faster. There is quite a bit that goes into it though, most people use plugins.

There are plenty of plugins out there that help with all kinds of carousels, slideshows, and sliders.!
