How to create a Stylguide

I see that styleguide or pattern libraries are becoming popular as a workflow tool. Once you've identified what the modular pieces of your front end are. How do you build a styleguide?

Doing a quick google search you'll find many tools like SC5 or Hologram. What are some best practices in creating a styleguide for development? How do you start "putting" code down for a beginner?

Using a framework to build a styleguide may be a good approach https://hugeinc.github.io/styleguide/ . Every style guide is different and yes this is an emerging trend. I would look at some examples. Bootstrap has a good one and theres many others that are pretty good out there.
