How to Create Registration Queue System

Hey guys, I've noticed more and more app's launching with a queued registration system (terminology?). I'm referring to what Mailbox did before their launch, Robinhood also did this, and now the new social media app Clear is doing this as well.

I'm wondering how to create a system that takes user registrations and automatically places them in a queue to gain access to your product, and gives the user a live indication of where they are located in that queue.

Is there some sort of existing product that offers this functionality? Or did these companies build this custom?

Looking at what you have linked. With the development of their product they would have created a custom queuing system especially for their launch. That's not something you can get 'off the shelf' so to speak. Sorry :(

However, if you are building a product yourself, that system isn't rocket science to build.

You mean something like a Closed Beta?

The only 'system' that I know of for this is a plugin for the Wordpress CMS called Closed Beta Wordpress Plugin

Check it out and let me know if that is what you mean

Not quite, take a look at this FastCompany article. This might help articulate what I mean a bit better.
