How to direct an existing QR code to my website via Wordpress?

I have an existing QR code that used to link to my Wordpress website. Now, it does not work - I get the error message 'the barcode is currently unavailable' - and I think the reason is that the hosting company where I created the QR code stopped supporting it.

Let me add that this was offered as a free QR code with no strings attached. I have never had any obligation to pay for it. It has worked with no problem at all for the past two years, and now it won't work anymore.

I have the existing QR code. Format: DATA_MATRIX. Type: Text. The number is available by scanning it, and I have the number. I host my own Wordpress website. I am able to scan other QR codes with no problem.

I wish to preserve this QR code, as I have printed it on my business card, postcards, signs, and other marketing materials. So, this means that the image must match, in addition to the other information.

I am unaware of a way to resuse a qrcode after the service hosting it has gone done unless you had a way of getting another provider to regenerate it for you. Maybe look into services that let you upload or create your own QR code and try using the existing one you have?

Zac, That may be a workaround. Can you input the existing QR code? Why is it that I cannot just use the QR code that I have, and specify that this image links to my website? As I understand it, the QR Code is simply an image that contains a number, this kind, Format: DATA_MATRIX. Type: Text. And that number can be linked to a website. So, I should be able to have the image containing the number on my website, and have it link back to my website. Will that work? Dumb question, probably..

I have downloaded a couple Wordpress plugins that may work. One is this one: https://wordpress.org/plugins/qrcode-wprhe/

Trying to figure out if I can specify my existing QR code and enter it in the javascript shortcode, if that makes sense.

Here is some of that: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/25842135/qr-codes-how-to-get-link-current-page

If the plugins let you host your own QR codes and generate url redirects that may work!

Zac, Thanks! Which plugin do you recommend? Have you tried it? I am sure I am not the only person affected by this problem.
