how to do that,I am confused

I am confused about challenge task2, use the document.write fuction to print player variable.

Here is my answer: var player='Jasmine'; document.write("player");

app.js
var player='Jasmine';
document.write("/'player/'");
index.html
<!DOCTYPE HTML>
<html>
<head>
  <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">
  <title>JavaScript Basics</title>
</head>
<body>
<script src="app.js"></script>
</body>
</html>

Since player is a variable name, you don't need to put it in quotation marks - that's what's not working for you. Anything inside quotation marks just gets printed as is.

So, you could do "document.write(player)" after declaring the variable and it should work correctly.
