How to echo's Mike"s name??

I can't figure out what I am doing wrong (i have tried adding a ; to the end of $name; and taking it out (as seen) Nothing is working. Thanks!!

It may be the case that your variables cannot be seen by all areas of the code as they are out of scope. Instead of having <?php ?> twice, have one <?php ?> statement and put all the code in there - with that missing semicolon.

Try this:

<?php
 $name = "Mike"; 
echo $name;
?>

I think you forgot the ";"
