How to get a job as a web developer/junior web developer

I want to how I can get into the web development field I have been sharping my skills through team treehouse and going to school for web design but teaching myself web development?

I have had the same question, and have found a few resources online that are very insightful. Most suggest creating a portfolio to showcase your talent, creating a github account, networking through meetups, and being active in the online community. These are a few articles that I find helpful:
