How to get the required 60 forum points for the career program?

I know you get 1 point for an upvote and 12 points for a best answer but I simply cant find any questions to answer. If I filter it to topics I know about and posts that don't have answers yet I rarely find anything. What I do find tends to be questions that are confusing and hard to answer.

It seems like all the questions that I would be able to answer already have an answer :/

Your answer doesn't have to be the best to receive points. If you add something valuable to the conversation you will probably get some points.

I promise just dive into the forum, research the questions and post a good answer. It doesn't matter if you aren't the best it will help you build experience and valuable knowledge. When I first started Treehouse I was terrified to answer forum questions and somehow I turned into a Mod.

Goodluck getting that job! --Ricky

Thanks! After I made this post I decided on exactly what you said and started answering what ever I could and sure enough I got some points!

Thanks for the help!

What does it take to become a mod?

The basic requirements are:

An in-depth understanding of the Treehouse app & learning experience Been learning with Treehouse for 3+ months At least 5,000 points on their Treehouse profile Demonstrated they are consistently helpful & engaging The ability to be patient & approachable in the forum

This mainly means: be helpful to others and try to give them the details and tools they need to succeed, and work hard on Treehouse by leading by example as well as word.

Keep answering questions, try to be detailed, be willing to admit you don't know something AND willing to go find the answer.

Goodluck! --Ricky

Thanks! I think I'm on my way to meeting those requirements. My favorite way to learn is by helping others learn so being a mod would be right up my alley.

Cheers!

Keep up the good work! Maybe if I notice you doing well I can give you a recommendation, but you'll have to earn it.

Goodluck! --Ricky
