How to get the value of input text?

This doesn't seem to work...

let inputValue;

inputValue = document.querySelector('input.value');
<!DOCTYPE html>
        <title>DOM Manipulation</title>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css" />
        <div id="content">
            <label>Link Name:</label>
            <input type="text" id="linkName">
            <a id="link" href="https://teamtreehouse.com"></a>
        <script src="app.js"></script>

Hello Aryaman!

Below is a great way to store the value of an input in a variable. This should also pass the challenge!

let inputValue = document.getElementById('linkName').value;

Let me know if this helps!
