How to make content editable for my customer

Lets say I have to make a presentation website for a customer and he or she wants to be able to make changes to the website (like editing text - not HTML tags , only the contents of it- or adding a picture ) how can I make this possible? Is it via wordpress or something else?

If you want it to be permanent changes, then yes some server side code will be involved. CMSs are a good route to go with this if you want to skip a ton of coding.
