How to marketing yourself?

I'm a interaction design student and finish school next summer. Since I will apply for job soon I'm thinking about marketing myself, but I'm not quite sure where to do it. I want to work as a UX designer or a front-end developer. I'm thinking about starting a instagram account to show off some of my early work and work progress, and also make myself a portfolio page.

I'm don't know the online community. So I'm wondering if you have any tips on how to marketing yourself?

Hi Heidi, I do agree with making a portfolio page and an Instagram account. To learn and market yourself, plant yourself in as many social media outlets and local and international design communities as possible. You are always a work in progress, so keep updating your social media, portfolio, Instagram, and even blog about it. For social media, I would recommend being active and participating in discussions on Twitter, Behance, and Dribble (You would need an invite for this). I'm not sure of any communities in Oslo, but in the USA, we have the Professional Association for Design (http://www.aiga.org/). There are also Facebook groups like https://www.facebook.com/groups/designguild/, https://www.facebook.com/UIPatterns/, and https://www.facebook.com/UIandUX/. There is also an design community on slack: http://thedesignership.com/ Hope this helps!
