How to prevent auto rotation for UICollectionViewContoller? Simply restricting collectionView to Portrait orientation

I would like to restrict my UICollectionView Controller to just portrait in my app but I would like to have other screens to support both orientations. I tried shouldAutoRotate function and didn't seem to have any effect, my screen still rotates to landscape.
