How to rewrite a statement "WordCount[word] += 1;"?

Is it "WordCount[word] = WordCount.key + 1;"?

This code should pass task 1 as it is. But if you want to make it more compact, when you add a new word you can give it the value "1" at the same time and then skip the increment:

           else 
           {
               WordCount.Add(word, 1);
           }
