How to subtract a circle from a rectangle programatically

I am making a camera app and i want to make only a circle part of the camera preview visible.So i want to draw canvas over the camera preview where i create a rectangle and subtract a circle at the centre and make the circle part transparent so that the camera preview is visible from the circle.
