How to "upload" a django site?

I built a simple django site locally using mysql, How do I "upload" it to my website on a hostgator server? I was trying to Use FTP(which was taught in treehouse HTML course), it seems doesn't work..... Where should i put related database? Thank you!

HostGator is famous for its WordPress hosting, I don't think they have any official support for Django.

You can of course try get it set up yourself by following the guide here.

If you are only doing it for learning, I suggest you check out Heroku, official Django support, deploy via git, and it's free.
