How to use a UITraitCollection?

I have started using Xcode 6, and I think I need to use trait collections. Except, I don't understand what it is, how to use it, or how to implement it in my code! Can someone explain it to me?!

And also....are trait collections new in Xcode 6?

Basically, it is new sizing method for interface.

Like UISplitViewcontroller, it used to just available to iPad, but now due to iPhone 6 's larger size, it can always display splitVC on landscape. By default, width: regular, height: regular , will place the SplitVC on the screen at the same time.

Suppose u wanna do the same thing on iPhone in Landscape, which size description is compact/compact.

With traitCollection, u can create a new instance and init the value to regular/regular, adapt that to the current viewcontroller, now no matter how small ur screen is , it still will using an iPad- like layout for splitview.
