How to use Github

Hi guys,

I've just completed the first part of the track for Web Design and now I want to set up a Github account. From what I'm understanding (or at least trying to) this is the ideal place for me to share my code so all the helpful people (such as yourselves) out there can view my work easier and offer some advice where needed.

Can anyone recommend a good tutorial video for Github? I've had a look around Youtube and Github itself but a lot of it is going over my head.

Any additional advice for someone new to this world would be gratefully received.

Thanks,

Have you tried the teamtreehouse course github basics?

Is there away for searching for that within Treehouse? I tried to find it but couldn't see where it would be on the Tracks page. I had to Google for it but did find it, thank you... I'm just wondering now what else is on this site that I've not seen; if I'm looking at it incorrectly.

Hey Mark, if you select Library on the left hand side (third icon down), you can search for courses there.

This is a quick tutorial made by Code School in partnership with Github. It covers all the basics of git/github, but for a deeper understanding I'd read the documentation.

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate the help.
