How to vertically center/align a div in html/css?

I come across this issue many types through different projects. It seems like there's no real answer out there. I know how to horizontally center a div , using different methods such as margin: 0 auto; text-align and others.... But when it comes to having a text or div centered many times I also want it to be centered vertically. How would I go about that?
