How would I build a whatsapp type of app?

I found the Ribbit app class useful, but how would I build a whatsapp type of app? What steps would I need to take and how could I learn?

I dont know but probably something like networking i believe . Maybe you should look on that , although that takes a mobile number too . Look on internet for articles and blogs , youtube and other courses. Maybe ull find.
