Html lists challenge task 3/3 doesn't validate my answer.

Hey guys,

I quite don't get why the following code doesn't work. Could you please help me? It's the only item left in my html course.

The challenge is: "Link each of the three list items. Portfolio should go to “index.html”, About should go to “about.html”, and Contact should go to “contact.html”."

index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>Nick Pettit</title>
  </head>
  <body>
    <header>
        <nav>
          <ul>
            <li><a href="index.html">Portfolio</a></li>
            <li><a href="about.html">About</a></li>
            <li><a href="contact.html">Contact</a></li>
          </ul>
        </nav>
        <h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
        <h2>Designer</h2>
    </header>
    <section></section>
    <footer>
      <p>&copy; 2013 Nick Pettit.</p>
    </footer>
  </body>
</html>

It looks like you removed the link to index link in the header surrounding Nick Pettit and Designer. Actually I think the ul list is supposed to be underneath the h1 and h2 in the header. That is what worked for me.

<header>
      <a href="index.html">

        <h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
        <h2>Designer</h2>
      </a>
 <ul>
            <li><a href="index.html">Portfolio</a></li>
            <li><a href="about.html">About</a></li>
            <li><a href="contact.html">Contact</a></li>
          </ul>
        </nav>

you code is fine, but at task #1 it ask to put a ul element inside a nav after the link, and from what i can see in your code that link is gone, i think you should start from task 1 again to see where did you go wrong . btw. final code should be like

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>Nick Pettit</title>
  </head>
  <body>
    <header>
      <a href="index.html">
        <h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
        <h2>Designer</h2>
      </a>
      <nav>
        <ul>
            <li><a href="index.html">Portfolio</a></li>
            <li><a href="about.html">About</a></li>
            <li><a href="contact.html">Contact</a></li>
        </ul>
      </nav>
    </header>
    <section></section>
    <footer>
      <p>&copy; 2013 Nick Pettit.</p>
    </footer>
  </body>
</html>

hope it works, happy coding
