447 PointsHTML5 Mobile Application Issue
Hello,
I am stuck on the "Creating List Views" section of the HTML5 mobile app lesson. My notes are getting created but never get listed within "All Notes."
All the code is correct according to the lesson. I have even downloaded the source to check, and the source from the lesson doesn't display the notes in the list. Please help!

Treehouse Guest TeacherHi Ian,
Sorry you're having trouble. It looks like the wrong files were linked on that particular videos, could you try these updated ones?
Sometimes at points in the video the code may stop working, and be fixed shortly after. If you encounter problems, sometimes the best way to debug is to watch some more of the course and even check out the next video's source code to see if anything has changed.
Hope that helps, Jim

447 PointsHello Jim,
Thank you for your reply. I have tried the updated files, but in Chrome I'm still having the same issue. However, in Firefox it's working. I cleared my browser cache in Chrome and still to no avail. Do you know what the issue might be?
I'm going to keep moving forward with the class, because it's really helpful. I'm really enjoying the videos, thanks Jim!
Best, Ian

447 PointsHello Jim,
Could it be that newer versions of jQuery, jQuery Mobile and Backbone.js are not allowing me to preview the local storage in the "All Notes" section of the app? It's becoming hard to move forward without seeing it functioning on the browser.
Thanks, Ian

Treehouse Guest TeacherIt could be that newer versions are causing problems. This course was produced quite a while back and new versions have been released, and things change. We are looking into how best to handle any updates to the libraries which may break our lesson code.
I'd highly recommend reading both the backbone documentation and jquery/jquery mobile docs. They have up to date information, and you can use the workshops as a guide to how to construct an application, while using docs to learn the precise syntax and methods in use by a library at any given time.

4,623 PointsJust wanted to bump this issue again. Its a great tutorial and has really helped me understand the techniques needed for data management in Javascript, but I've hit the same problem as well.
Did anyone figure out what the problem is?

3,742 PointsI can't say that I have completely fixed it, but I did get unstuck. In your NoteListView, go note out this.collection.fetch();
Upon doing this, your collection of notes will load. I'm not sure what breaks because of this as I have not finished the tutorial, but again, getting unstuck is half the battle.
