I am at a total loss here.

I'm not even sure how to start - any help is greatly appreciated in advance, thank you!

app.js
var secret = prompt("What is the secret password?");

while () {

}
document.write("You know the secret password. Welcome.");

Hi Val,

var secret = "";

while (secret.toLowerCase() !== "sesame") {
  secret = prompt("What is the secret password?");
}

document.write("You know the secret password. Welcome.");

Ah, didn't see Tommy's comment. If you remove the prompt from the initial declaration you can reduce code .

This can the lead to even cleaner code later on using 'do... while' like:

do {
  var secret = prompt("What is the secret password?");
} while (secret.toLowerCase() !== "sesame");

document.write("You know the secret password. Welcome.");
