I am completely lost in the entire Java lesson. I don't know what any of this means :(

I hope you're not really trying to learn Java. Your link is to a JavaScript course (different languages with somewhat similar names).

But, assuming you're actually wanting to learn JavaScript .. have you already taken the JavaScript Basics course? That might be a better starting point.
