I am doing the track about Java but I'm realizing it's not the same as JavaScript. What's the difference? And what is Java used for? I see to real purpose for Java.

JavaScript and java are not the same in any way. JavaScript is for websites and much more, it's used for interacting with the web page. You use java to mainly create software though like how you have the calculator program on your pc. Java can also be used to make java web apps but the two languages are for separate purposes.
