Android Build a Simple Android App (2014) Getting Started with Android Setting Up an Android Development Environment for Windows

I am extracting the Android Studio for Windows files and during extraction, get a 'Destination Path Too Long' error.

The file in question is com.android.ide.eclipse.heirarchyviewer.feature

The error message says: The filename is too long for the destination folder. You can 'shorten the filename and try again, or try a location that has a shorter file path'.

How do I do either of these 2 things?

I sorted this out. Just re-extract to a new location, preferably somewhere that is readily accessible from your Desktop or Computer menu. I extracted to a file in my C Drive, so the path name was a lot shorter: C:\AndroidStudio
