JavaScript JavaScript Basics (Retired) Making Decisions with Conditional Statements Using Comparison Operators

i am having trouble answering the question in JavaScript basics on comparison operators.

the question asks me to write a statement comparing a > b. and tells me to write a statement saying yes a is greater than b, but also asks me to write an else statement that says a is not greater than b. i understand writing if and else statements but every time i do it tells me it can not see " a is Not greater than b". please let me know what i am doing wrong.

script.js
var a = 10;
var b = 20;
var c = 30;
if (answer = 'a > b') {
alert("<p>'a is greater than b.'</p>");
} else (answer = 'a < b') {
alert ("<p>'a is Not greater than b.'</p>");
}

Inside the if() statement correct your code to (a > b) so please delete the answer =. When you use else statement, this is the last possibility so you do not have to use it the condition, like this else {}. Hope this help.

Second, in the alert() dialog delete the paragraphs only you need 'a is greater than b'. Pay attention to that what the task is asking from you.

Challenge Task 1 of 1

Add a conditional statement that tests if the value in the variable a is greater than the value in variable b. If it is, pop up an alert with the message 'a is greater than b'; also add an else clause that pops up the message 'a is not greater than b'.
