I am having trouble with selecting descendant elements.

let navigationLinks = document.getElementsByTag ('nav li') or at least ('nav ul li') are not valid descendant selectors?

You have two issues:

  • the function "getElementsByTagName" only takes a simple tag name, use"querySelectorAll" for selectors
  • "nav li" selects list items. To select links use "nav a" (links are implemented with anchor elements)
