You have repeated the targeting of the element footer-nav twice in your first css rule. You need to remove that comma in order to create a descendant selector for the list items. like so:

.footer-nav,
.footer-nav li {
  /* code here */
}

Next in your html document, you need add the class clearfix to your footer element like this:

<footer class="clearfix">
