I am not able to understand the question

The question in the build a simple android app not able to understand

activity_main.xml

write the XML by hand. Start simple by adding a Button element. Copy and paste the TextView element and just change 'TextView' to 'Button'.

<RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent" >

<TextView android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" />

Ok,

So all you have to do is create a simple button

<Button
    android:layout_width="wrap_content"
    android:layout_height="wrap_content" />

As you can see, all you is copy and paste the TextView code and change TextView to Button. This will create a simple button for you

Add that code right below the TextView code
