MainActivity.java
// some methods omitted
public class MainActivity extends Activity {
    Boolean isBound = false;
    Messenger mServiceMessenger;
    Messenger mesanger = new Messenger(new ServiceHandler());

    ServiceConnection mServiceConnection = new ServiceConnection() {
      @Override
      public void onServiceConnected(ComponentName name, IBinder binder) {
        isBound = true;
        mServiceMessenger = new Messenger(binder);
         Message message = Message.obtain();
                message.replyTo = mesanger;

                    mServiceMessenger.send(message);

      }

      @Override
      public void onServiceDisconnected(ComponentName name) {
        isBound = false;
      }
    };

   class ServiceHandler extends Handler {
      @Override
      public void handleMessage(Message msg) {

      }
    }
}
GeolocationService.java
// some methods omitted
public class GeolocationService extends Service {
    int mLatitude;
    int mLongitude;
    Messenger mMessenger = new Messenger(new LocationHandler());

    @Override
    public IBinder onBind(Intent intent) {
      return mMessenger.getBinder();
    }

   class LocationHandler extends Handler {
      @Override
      public void handleMessage(Message msg) {
        mLatitude = getLatitude();
        mLongitude = getLongitude();
        Message message = Message.obtain();
        message.arg1 = mLatitude;
        message.arg2 = mLongitude;
        message.replyTo = mMessenger;
      }
    }
}
Difficulty.java
  public class Difficulty {
    public static Boolean HARDMODE = false;
  }

Hey man, its been a while since you have posted this but anyway i try to guide you to the answer:

in GeolocationService.java, in the handle message you create the message but you don't send it to the replyTo candidate, like: msg.replyTo.send(your new message)

and to call it from the MainActivity, you can call setCoordinates in handle message where you got the coordinates in the received message (msg) and arg1, arg2 inside...

hope this helps, cheers
