I am thinking about joining the Techdegree?

Hi everyone!

I am thinking about joining the Techdegree sometime this week but I am really worried that this whole coding business isn't for me. I've been on the $25 plan and completed some of the courses like 'Introduction to HTML & CSS', "Introduction to JavaScript" and the "How to build a website" and they have been really good courses but I find myself not being able to retain what I've learned or even know how to apply what I learned on my own. The only thing I know how to do really is write the structure of a document, I then sit there and think to myself... Now what? I would really like to learn how build a website or application on my own someday, I just don't feel creative enough. Do you think I should join the Techdegree , or stick with the $25 courses

Thanks!

You can be JUST a backend developer.

I would also suggest dipping your toes into ios or android. You may find (as I did) that mobile is more your thing.

jrs0801 His post didn't say anything about favoring the backend.

I would stay on basic for a bit longer if you're iffy about coding. While doing that, try and think of some simple things you could build because that will (probably) make future courses more relevant to you.

Even I have a hard time applying things from here. Not every course gives me a new idea that I can apply right away.

Let me know if this helps here

Maybe try back-end programming instead of front-end if you don't have any ideas on visual layout right now.

Try Java or C#

You could also try a design course on treehouse. I haven't done any of those yet so couldn't recommend it The good thing about Basic plan is you can try out all the different courses.
