In your index.html file, on line 10. You're missing a closing tag. It should be

</script>

Also, in your scripts.js file, you misspelled alert.

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
  <meta charset="utf-8">
  <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/main.css">
  <title>JavaScript Basics</title>
  <script src="scripts.js"></script>
 </head>

<body>
  <div class="container">
  <h1>Where to place your JavaScript code.</h1>
  </div>
</body>
</html>

This should print out: "JavaScript is NOT Java!"

if you change

atert("JavaScript is NOT Java!");

to

alert("JavaScript is NOT Java!");
