I cannot solve this

"I have modeled an assistant for a tech conference. Since there are so many attendees, registration."

ConferenceRegistrationAssistant.java
public class ConferenceRegistrationAssistant {

  public int getLineFor(String lastName) {
    /* If the last name is between A thru M send them to line 1
       Otherwise send them to line 2 */
    int line;
    boolean isHit = lastName.indexOf(lastName) >=13;
    if (isHit) {
      line = 1;
    } else {
      line += 1;
    }
    return line;
  }

}

Hi there. Here's one way. For each name sent to the method, they expect either a 1 or a 2 back:

  public int getLineFor(String lastName) {
    /* If the last name is between A thru M send them to line 1
       Otherwise send them to line 2 */
    int line = 0;
    if (lastName.charAt(0) <= 'M') {
        line = 1;
    } else {
        line = 2;
    }
    return line;
  }
