JavaScript JavaScript Basics (Retired) Storing and Tracking Information with Variables Using String Methods

I can't advance

I'm stuck with the current question, is it working properly?

app.js
var id = "23188xtr";
var lastName = "Smith";

var userName = id;

document.write(id.toUpperCase());
index.html
<!DOCTYPE HTML>
<html>
<head>
  <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">
  <title>JavaScript Basics</title>
</head>
<body>
<script src="app.js"></script>
</body>
</html>

Thanks a bunch Alexander Solberg!

You should try utilizing the string method when declaring the variable ;) something like

var userName = id.toUpperCase();

Then refer to that new variable in document.write, however, in that challenge, all you need to do is to define the variable "userName".
