I can't dissect the bummer message.

The h1 tag if off. Try:

<h1 style="color: purple;">Welcome to My Web Page!</h1>

Hiya! I'm unable to see the bummer message, but I can advise how to proceed with step 2.

It's asking for the H1 tag to be purple. For this, click the .css file next to the .html tab. From here, add the normal syntax:

h1 {
    color:
}

In addition, you can put it within the tag as you have done, but the ; isn't necessary:

<h1 style="color: purple">Welcome to My Page!</h1>

Hopefully that is enough of a hint to get you to move forward, good luck!
