I CAN'T FIND ANY FREELANCE WORK
I have started up as a freelance web designer/developer, I have been looking for work for over three weeks now I have had no luck in finding any work at all!!
How do you guys find work? Have you got any tips?
Are you listed on any freelance sites such as odesk.com, elance.com? I realise it's very difficult starting but one way to build up a portfolio is offer to do something for free for friends/family etc. Also maybe look for local businesses websites to being with and see any poor ones and contact them offering to do something better for a very small fee (to begin with), again to build up that portfolio and experience and you may even get word of mouth advertising then. Jumping in with no portfolio to speak of against an international market is difficult so you need to make some small sacrifices to get the appearance of experience and the ability to showcase your skills.
It's looking quite nice and clean. The only thing in my opinion is that for the portfolio part of the front page you use screenshots for images, makes it more obvious straight away they're example websites and one of the most important things people will want to see.
