I can't get the Tilde (~) command on the TreeHouse console

Hello Fellow TreeHouse people!

I'm quite new to the community but I have a question to ask which I hope is not that stupid!

I recently started the "Console for beginners" and I used the TreeHouse console but also tried the Terminal on my Mac. Now my problem is when they ask to type tilde (~) on the treehouse console the typing does not work on my mac?

It works when i type in my own Terminal (I have tested and it works) but the command alt + ¨ won't work when i'm on the Treehouse console?

any suggestions? Perhaps this is a bug or something but shouldn't the command be the same as the one for the Terminal on the mac?

anyway I know this is a small questions I wanted still to ask and make sure I can use the ~ for the future tasks!

on a mac you should have the tilde button to the left of the number one key, use shift to access the symbol.

I have a scandinavian keyboard and the tilde is next to my å. The shift + the left button next to my number key don't give me the tile?

Nope. Didn't work. it seems like when i press alt + something nothing works? I'm not sure if this is a bug or something because it works fine on my mac terminal still and anywhere else I use it...

That is strange, it allows me to do this in the treehouse console. I am not sure what else you could try.

Ok so one solution for me were to change my Input language to ENGLISH. So If some of you use Scandinavian keyboard just change it to english keyboard input and viola! you get most of the inputs! Still not tilde tough...

I switched to US Keyboard still not working whats the matter ????

I starting to get disappointed.....
