I cant install custom post type plugin on my online wordpress site

You probably dont have permission to write to your server. I recommend you read a bit more in this article: https://www.smashingmagazine.com/2014/05/proper-wordpress-filesystem-permissions-ownerships/. To fix your problem you either have to change your permissions yourself or ask your host to do it for you so you can install plugins in your WordPress install.
