Ruby Installing a Ruby on Rails Development Environment in OS X

I can't install Xcode

When I try to install XCode, this appears: http://screencast.com/t/Fg3RITN0n

Do I need XCode? How can I know if I already have it? Don't want to get stuck at the first step, I'll appreciate some help

Hey Wilfredo,

I honestly can't recall if I had Xcode installed or not when I did the rails course. I know that I've never coded any Ruby directly in Xcode (I always use Atom). So, I can't give an experienced answer on why Xcode is needed.

But looking at your screenshots, you are not able to install it, because your iOS system software is not up to date. You are running Yosemite 10.10 and the current version of Xcode will only work on El Capitan 10.11.

If upgrading is not possible, and you have a developer account, you can download older versions of Xcode from the Apple Developer Site.
