19,488 PointsI am using windows so would download the mp4 file. Have never use a mac this link may help.

19,488 PointsUsing Windows I right clicked on the srt file used notepad ++ to open the srt file
It will open in notepad++ but not notepad.

19,488 PointsYou may try opening the file using Coda or Sublime Text 2. You can also ask treehouse through an email help@teamtreehouse.com.
Teamtreehouse support is very good.
