i copied the code but it gives me an error ,Source file `Program.exe' is a binary file and not a text file

Can someone help ?

You are correct, Program.exe is a binary file. It is not the source file.

The source file is Program.cs. The command to compile it is: "mcs program.cs".

When you compile it, you get Program.exe. The command to run the compiled program is: "mono program.exe".
